Mount Kilimanjaro Climb
In November 2012, a small team from specialist financial planners Cavendish Medical will be climbing Mount Kilimanjaro to raise vital funds for Joint Action.
Kilimanjaro is the highest free-standing mountain in the world and rises an impressive 5895m above sea level. Despite its immense size, it can be climbed by any reasonably fit person as no technical skills are necessary.
Dr Mark Martin of Cavendish Medical said: “We are taking on this huge challenge hoping to raise £15,000 for Joint Action in this tough economic climate and would like as many volunteers as possible to join us.”
Cavendish Medical provides expert financial advice to medical practitioners and their families.
The expedition will last 11 days in total with seven days spent camping in tents on the way to the summit. Although more like a very long uphill walk rather than a climb, Kilimanjaro is a tough challenge and requires a good level of fitness.
