Joint Action Improving Patient Education

Joint Action has launched an initiative with Medical Models Limited that is targeted to raise in excess of £100,000 for Orthopaedic Research whilst enhancing the cause of improved patient education for hip and knee implant procedures

Joint Replacement Models (JRMs) are life-size models showing joints following surgery with their implants in situ. They are both anatomically accurate and artistically attractive.

These models are ideal for initial consultations with patients, for further education at pre-assessment clinics and to improve post operative recovery and physiotherapy.

10% of the sales value of all JRMs sold will be donated directly to Joint Action.

With over 300 hospitals undertaking orthopaedic procedures, the sale of only 3 models to each of these hospitals would generate a donation of approximately £20,000. In addition, a percentage of patients will be interested in purchasing their own memento of their particular procedure. If only 3% of all patients undergoing implant surgery in any single year decided to purchase, a further £80,000 donation would be generated. If achieved, this level of donations would be generated year on year.
